The Reality

According to Camp, I needed to write 736 words per day this week to meet my goal of 15k for the month. The overachiever in me decided to say, "nah. Let's go above and beyond and hit 750 words."

So how did I do?

Week 3 Stats

During Week 1, I managed 2,979 words. At the end of Week 2, I got to 3,961 words. My plan for Week 3 was to add an extra 5,250 words (9,211 total).

Well guys, I HIT MY GOAL! Actually, I surpassed it! I added an extra 5,324 words to my novel for a grand total of 9,285. Thanks to a lovely Twitter chat I'm apart of, we did three 25 minute sprints that really helped me beef up my word count.

Please, save the congratulations. There is only ONE week left of Camp, and I still have to reach 15k! So, what's my plan of attack?

My Goals for Week 4

15,000 - 9,285 = 5,715

Woof. This week I killed it, I'm not gonna lie. But for Week 4, I have to be a complete powerhouse to hit 15k.

I honestly wasn't sure I could get to my Week 3 goal, but I did it. I just have to keep the same mindset for Week 4, and I'll be golden.

I have to write about 816 words per day to hit my goal. The sprints I did last week were such a lifesaver, I know I'm going to be doing several a day during Week 4 to make sure I hit my daily word count.

Interested in what I might be writing about?

Here's an excerpt from Week 3:

"It’s only natural to be consumed with the idea of death. We’re surrounded by it. Every day, another person stops breathing and the earth opens to cover them like a blanket. Then we stomp on the corpses, praying their souls drink our tears. We tether ourselves to the dead in the hopes that they will remember our devotion, and welcome us to the party when it’s our time. At least, that’s how it used to be."
